We are all complicit in these vile acts of torture - but what can we do about it?

If our government uses information drained out of these creatures, it is we who are holding the whips

by Robert Fisk

06/18/05 'The Independent' - - We are all complicit in these vile acts of torture - but what can we do about it? If our government uses information drained out of these creatures, it is we who are holding the whips.

I still have my notes from a man who knew all about torture, a Druze friend in the 1980s, during the Lebanese war, pleased with himself because he'd just caught two Christian militiamen trying to plant a car bomb on the Beirut seafront. 'I saw two Phalangists over there. I knew who they were. They had a bomb in their car. I called the PSP [Walid Jumblatt's Progressive Socialist Party] and they took them off for questioning.' What happened to them? 'Well, they knew what would happen to them; they knew there was no hope. They were questioned here for a couple of days and then they were taken up to Beit Eddin.'

Gov. Bush: Prosecutor taking up Schiavo inquiry

And lest anyone needed further proof of the Bush families genetic predisposition to vindictiveness leading to the pathological and systematic abuses of authority that we have witnessed every time a Bush gets anywhere near executive positions, to wit. Iran-Gate.
George Bush Sr. was Vice president at the time. Although he was never indicted himself and managed to stay out of the sites of the committee, you would have to be a fool not to believe that, given his tenure at the helm of the CIA itself, that he was not involved. Eugene Hassenfus, the pilot of the contra-supply airplane that was shot down by the Sandanistas , was carrying a scrap of paper, neatly stitched into his clothing. This paper had the number of the VP's personal contact number on it.

Next , George Jr. No explanation necessary. A criminal regime from it's inception. Indeed, it's inception, the voting procedure in both cases, was itself a criminal action.

And now we come to Jeb, the one whom many are touting as the natural heir-apparent to the White House. Read on.......

US lied to Britain over use of napalm in Iraq war
By Colin Brown, Deputy Political Editor

17 June 2005

American officials lied to British ministers over the use of 'internationally reviled' napalm-type firebombs in Iraq.

Yesterday's disclosure led to calls by MPs for a full statement to the Commons and opened ministers to allegations that they held back the facts until after the general election."

Despite persistent rumours of injuries among Iraqis consistent with the use of incendiary weapons such as napalm, Adam Ingram, the Defence minister, assured Labour MPs in January that US forces had not used a new generation of incendiary weapons, codenamed MK77, in Iraq.

Evidence of false statements made by Tony Blair to Parliament and the media

Evidence of false statements made by Tony Blair to Parliament and the media

Leaked Cabinet Office papers, September 2004:
Summary

The Butler Report of July 2004 highlighted substantial omissions of evidence regarding Iraq, but did not argue that positively false information had been given by the Prime Minister to press or Parliament. On 18 September 2004, the Daily Telegraph published extracts from a series of newly leaked documents from the Cabinet Office. With one exception, none of these were quoted in the Butler Report.[1] The full texts of these documents:

A) Provide clear evidence that the Prime Minister substantively misled Parliament and press in claiming that:

a. his government’s objective was disarmament, and not regime change by force; and that

b. as late as February 2003, no decision had been taken to invade Iraq.

Instead, they show that Blair was fully committed to regime change as early as 8 March 2002, and communicated this position to Bush and his officials. This is substantive evidence of positive falsehood on the part of the Prime Minister, not simply an omission of evidence. "

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Despite the fact that most Canadians want LESS integration with the United States under Bush, not more, this plan and the process of deep integration are unfortunately well underway. The Canadian government has already:
* Created a Canada-U.S.-Mexico task force headed by former Liberal Deputy Prime Minister John Manley which is devising a plan to establish a continent-wide customs union with a common approach to trade, energy, immigration, law enforcement and security that would virtually eliminate existing national borders. The task force released its recommendations for common North American security etc May 17/18 2005.
* Created a bi-national military planning group (2002), soon expected to release a report recommending how the two countries' militaries can 'work together more effectively to counter land-based and maritime threats.' (See also: Deadline looms on continental defence project)
* Signed the Canada-U.S. Smart Border Declaration which includes such points as shared customs data, a safe third-country agreement, harmonized commercial processing, etc. (see link for full list)
* Established the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America and agreed to harmonize Canadian regulations with U.S. regulations under the 40-Point Smart Regulation Action Plan"
Christian Coalition leader wants gays to wear warning labels, cites research from known hate group
by John in DC - 6/13/2005 11:59:00 AM
The leader of a conservative Christian lobby group says that gays should be required to wear warning labels.
'We put warning labels on cigarette packs because we know that smoking takes one to two years off the average life span, yet we 'celebrate' a lifestyle that we know spreads every kind of sexually transmitted disease and takes at least 20 years off the average life span according to the 2005 issue of the revered scientific journal Psychological Reports,' said Rev. Bill Banuchi, executive director of the New York Christian Coalition.
The journal regularly publishes articles described by many mainstream psychologists as misleading and faulty. The homosexuality morbidity study was conducted by the conservative anti-gay Family Research Institute.
In fact, the 'study' in question was done by Paul Cameron, the head of a hate group - literally, the Southern Poverty Law Center has labeled Cameron's group a 'hate group' - Cameron was thrown out of the scientific profession twenty years ago for his hate research. But that doesn't stop the Christian Coalition from using hate literature and proposing Nazi solutions to brand gays."
